Composite bonding can be used on individual or multiple teeth to create a full smile transformation; it can change tooth shape, colour, length and width to mask discoloured teeth, correct small gaps, and misshapen teeth or disguise broken or chipped teeth.

What is composite bonding?

Composite bonding uses a special tooth-coloured resin material that is molded to your existing teeth to change their appearance.

Unlike porcelain veneers, composite bonding does not require any drilling to the natural teeth. Composite edge bonding is applied to the ‘edge’ of the teeth to change the shape, close gaps, make teeth appear longer, make teeth look more level or hide chips and general wear and tear.

Composite veneers cover the full surface of the tooth and can therefore produce quite dramatic changes to shape, width, length and tooth colour.

What is the treatment process?

While some preparation is required on the natural teeth, no drilling is required. You will first attend a consultation with one of our composite specialists who will discuss your needs and create a bespoke treatment plan to ensure the best result for your individual case.

Depending on your aims for the treatment, you may need a combination of composite edge bonding and composite veneers. If any whitening or other treatment is required, this will take place before your bonding appointment.
